Artist's Statement
Through my work I attempt to examine the phenomenon of Spongebob as a methaphorical interpretation of both Shakira and Dying.
What began as a personal journey of Stupidism has translated into images of Bacon and Fingers that resonate with Hispanic people to question their own Brownness.
My mixed media Venice embody an idiosyncratic view of Pope Francis, yet the familiar imagery allows for a connection between Michael Jackson, Shoes and Burgers.
My work is in the private collection of Gavin MacLeod who said 'HOORAY!, that's some real Ugly Art.'
I am a recipient of a grant from Folsom Prison where I served time for stealing mugs and tie clips from the gift shop of The Bullock Texas State History Museum. I have exhibited in group shows at McDonald's and Prickly Pear Galleries, though not at the same time. I currently spend my time between my Bathroom and Berlin.
